Collection consists of approximately 13,500 items, mostly books in first editions but also magazines, ephemera, newspapers, manuscripts and typescripts of published works, galley proofs, film scripts, photographs, one original painting by Sidney Paget, and Ned Guymon's Raven Award from the Mystery Writers of America. Materials range from 1611-1999, and include pre-20th century true crime accounts, Gothic fiction, penny dreadfuls, supernatural novels, mystery and detective novels, thrillers, science fiction.
